Dr. Evan Kory
Evan Kory is a vivid keyboardist with repertoire ranging from the renaissance and baroque to the 21st Century. Kory has performed throughout the United States as well as Canada, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia, Australia and China in venues such as Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, Leipzig Bach Archive, the Kosciuszko Foundation, Conservatoire de Musique du Québec in Montréal, St. Bartholomew’s Church in New York, Lyceum of Arts Recital Hall in St. Petersburg, Russia, Beijing International Music Festival and others.
He recorded the works of J.S. Bach on the Master Performers label and continues to perform Bach’s solo keyboard repertoire on harpsichord and piano.
Equally versed in the modern piano and period keyboard instruments, Kory graduated from Manhattan School of Music with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance and a second masters in historical performance from The Juilliard School. Throughout his time in New York he studied with Phillip Kawin, Peter Sykes, Richard Egarr, and Beatrice Martin.
As continuo keyboardist he has performed with The Phoenix Symphony, New York Baroque Incorporated, Inwood Baroque, Olmos Ensemble, and many other chamber groups throughout the United States.
Evan Kory resides in his hometown of Nogales, Arizona where he is active with many non-profit organizations. He serves as President of La Linea Art Studio and the Wittner Museum and is also a board member of the Pimeria Alta Historical Society, Nogales Community Development, Santa Cruz Foundation for the Performing Arts and Santa Cruz Advocates for the Arts.
Nogales native Evan Kory holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music and a Masters of Music in Historical Performance from The Juilliard School. Dr. Kory has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral keyboardist in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall, Leipzig Bach Archive, the Kosciuszko Foundation, Lyceum of Arts Recital Hall in St. Petersburg Russia, and the Beijing International Music Festival. Dr. Kory is a former faculty member of the Interlochen Center for the Arts and is an Artist-in-Residence at the Santa Cruz Foundation for the Performing Arts in Patagonia, Arizona.
